Chat history, sharing, and export¶
Every conversation you have with Pér is kept. This article covers finding one again, keeping the list usable, handing a chat to a colleague, and taking one out of Pér.
This is the Learn stage of the customer decision loop, in its most literal form — nothing is thrown away.
Finding a chat again¶
Your chats are the index of what you have asked Pér. They are listed newest first, the 50 most recent at a time, and the list is specific to your Pér usage.
Only your own chats are listed. A colleague does not see them unless you share one.
Rename a chat to something you will recognize. Until you do, it is named by your first message — see What a conversation is.
Pin the ones you keep coming back to. Pinned chats are grouped above the rest.
Search by anything said in a chat, not just by its name. Search covers the chats in your list, so it reaches text inside your 50 most recent.
The list also tells you what each chat is doing: which are still working, which have an answer waiting that you have not read, and which had a response fail. That is the other half of work running on the server — you can start something, go elsewhere, and find out from the list that it finished.
Deleting a chat¶
Deleting a chat takes it out of your history, and takes not-yet-approved work with it.
Deleting cannot be undone. Pér asks you to confirm, and names the chat it will remove. Once removed, it is no longer yours to open, search or share.
Anything in it still waiting for your approval can no longer be run. A change Pér proposed and you never approved goes away with the conversation, even if you have a tab still showing it. See What Pér can’t do, whatever you approve.
Note
Deleting a chat does not delete what it produced. A report Pér wrote and a file you attached are kept as artifacts and survive the conversation. Deleting is not an erasure request either: it takes the conversation out of Pér, and what Amperity retains beyond that is governed by your agreement.
Taking a chat out of Pér¶
A chat exports as Markdown, to the clipboard or as a file.
This is for the times the destination is not Pér: a ticket, a planning document, a mail you write yourself. The export is a fresh read of the saved conversation, so what you get is what is stored rather than what happens to be on screen.
Note
A chat exports while it is settled, not while it is still answering. Wait for the response to finish and try again.
For a report rather than a transcript, export the artifact instead — see Taking an artifact with you.
