Send query results to Airship Attributes¶
Airship is a customer engagement platform that helps marketers connect with their customers across every stage of the customer lifecycle. The Airship Attributes destination sends customer attributes from Amperity to matching profiles in an Airship project using the Airship Attribute Lists API, where they can be used for segmentation and personalization.
Note
This destination uses the Airship Attribute Lists API .
Beta
The Airship Attributes connector is currently in beta. Contact your Amperity representative to learn more.
The steps that are required to send attributes to Airship Attributes from Amperity.
Caution
This destination is available for sending query results to Airship Attributes after it is configured by a Datagrid Operator or your Amperity representative.
If this destination cannot be selected for orchestrations ask your Datagrid Operator or Amperity representative to configure a destination for sending query results to Airship Attributes.
Build query¶
Build a query that returns the fields to send to Airship Attributes. Rename the column that holds the Airship identifier to airship_identifier; its contents must match the Identifier type configured on the destination (a named user ID, a channel ID, or an email address). Every other column is sent as an Airship attribute, and each column name must exactly match the ID of an attribute that already exists in your Airship project.
The following example returns an email identifier and two attribute columns from the Customer 360 table. It assumes the destination’s Identifier type is set to email address, and that loyalty_tier and lifetime_value already exist as attributes in the Airship project:
SELECT
email AS airship_identifier
,loyalty_tier
,lifetime_value
FROM Customer_360
Note
Airship rejects the entire upload if any attribute column is not already an attribute in your Airship project. Create every attribute in the Airship dashboard, under Audience > Attributes > Attribute List, before running the orchestration.
Add orchestration¶
An orchestration defines the relationship between query results and a destination, including the destination and the frequency at which an orchestration runs.
Open the Activations page, select the Orchestrations tab, and then click the Add orchestration button. This opens the Add orchestration dialog box.
From the Object type dropdown, select Query.
From the Object dropdown, select the query for which results is sent to Airship Attributes.
From the Destination dropdown, select a destination that is configured for sending data to Airship Attributes.
Verify all settings.
Set the workflow to Manual. You can change this to automatic later, after verifying the end-to-end workflow.
Click Save.
Run orchestration¶
Run the orchestration manually to validate that it works.
Open the Activations page, select the Orchestrations tab, and then open the menu for the Airship Attributes orchestration. Select Run.
The Status column for the orchestration updates to say “Waiting to start”, after which the notifications pane updates to include a notification that shows the current status.
When the orchestration has run successfully, the status is updated to “Completed”.
